History of St. Moritz Security Services, Inc.
1982- Philip St. Moritz establishes Security Services, Inc. as a value added service for his successful janitorial company located in Western Pennsylvania.
1989- In 1989 SSI begins to expand outside of Pittsburgh metro area into small town markets throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia via acquisitions of smaller security companies.
1995- In 1995, due to the growth of Security Services, Inc. and licensing requirements in various states, St. Moritz is added to the Security Services, Inc. name. St. Moritz Security Services, Inc. then adopts the tag line of “Protecting Your Interests”.
1999- St. Moritz creates the Jewelry Escort Services and develops a network of over 2000 off duty and retired police officers to serve as escorts for jewelry representatives across the US establishing an office in LA.
2001 - Due to a large acquisition, St. Moritz enters the Philadelphia market.
2001 - St. Moritz is awarded national contracts with Diebold and NCR that requires St. Moritz to protect their ATM technicians as they repair ATM machines. St. Moritz develops a network of proprietary security officers and contracted, affiliate security companies to fulfill these contracts. In support of our growth, the St. Moritz National Communications Center becomes an integral part of the ATM Services and a value added service for all St. Moritz clients.
2002– Utilizing the St. Moritz National Communications Center and the national network of affiliate security guard companies, St. Moritz begins providing guard service for clients on a national basis.
2004 – St. Moritz acquires a security company based in Hollywood, Florida and enters the South Florida market.
2005– St. Moritz begins providing guard service on a national basis for high end retail clients such as Cartier, DeBeers and Burberry with stores located at 5th Avenue in Manhattan, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and Bal Harbour, Florida.
2008– To better serve our clients St. Moritz adds regional offices in many major metropolitan markets, such as Boston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Houston.
2010 – Expansion continues as St. Moritz opens Regional Offices in Atlanta and Scottsdale, Arizona.
TODAY - Providing services for over 29 years, St. Moritz is ranked as one of the largest privately-held and American-owned security service providers in the United States. We are poised to continue our geographical growth with the addition of regional operational offices and our ability to provide services internationally. We also continue to develop and market specialized services to many industries.
