Previous Business:

  1. The minutes from the September, 2007 meeting were accepted unanimously. Paul M. provided the motion to accept; Hope P. seconded that motion.
  2. A letter was sent to the client, Tri-Gate, explaining the safety hazard given at the August meeting as to the slippery stairs at a site. There has been no response from the client to date.
  3. The meeting at Allegheny Center with the management and city officials, discussed at September’s meeting, has not taken place yet. Chuck K. will provide an update when it is scheduled.

New Business:

  1. Hope P. questioned when the employees at Jefferson Hospital should be renewing their TB shots. This will be researched.
  2. A list of flu shot clinics was provided for the Pittsburgh office and every office received a link to the website where they would be able to look-up clinic information in their area.
  3. Joe M. will provide the Safety hazard at the next meeting.

Kelly Brown, Zurich, reviewed the figures on our claim history of January 1, 2003 through the present. Our figures have increased slightly in “2007” and there is room to improve in providing light-duty to injured workers. Slips, trips, and falls are still the highest cause of our W/C claims.

Fred Samson provided our yearly-required safety committee training. There were three parts: Orientation on what the committee is required to do; Hazard Assessment; and Accident Investigation. Detailed information on the training is available at the corporate office.

The next meeting will be held Friday, November 30, 2007.
