St Moritz Security Services, Safety Meeting October 24, 2008
Present: John V., Hope P., Don B., Vickie M., Joe M., Doris B., Paul M., Charles K., Carl F., AIG insurance.
The meeting started at 0900.
Accidents:
There were four accidents reported since our September meeting:
IL:
9/11/08-Employee reported that an infection was caused by using the facilities at the site. This claim was found not to be work related.
10/8/08-Employee twisted knee while apprehending a thief. Employee was treated, rested for 2 days and returned to work.
NY:
9/23/08-employee fell while walking on a hillside; medical only.
WV:
9/20/08-Employee stepped in a hole while walking patrol and talking on a cell phone. Medical only. Employee received a write-up for inattention to duty.
Vehicle Accident:
10/23/08-Company van was damaged while parked.
Previous Business:
The September meeting minutes were unanimously accepted. A motion to accept was provided by Paul M. and seconded by Hope P.
Safety hazards at Allegheny Center. A letter was sent to the client requesting that slide protectors be installed on the escalators to prevent children from sliding down the smooth side of the escalator. There has been no response. In addition, Charles K. was asked if there was any additional information on the weapon incident reported in September; the employee of the Parking Co. has been removed from the site.
New Business:
We welcomed John V. as a new member of the committee.

The meeting was turned over to Carl Figan from AIG, who provided the committee with the yearly training necessary for PA certification.
